Muddy Creek Animal Care Center offers a variety of dog training programs including group classes, private obedience lessons, behavior modification and even a program specifically designed for children and their canine companions.
All programs are instructed by our resident dog trainer Katelyn Rollins. Katelyn is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, an Animal Behavior College graduate, an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and a Professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She also holds a degree in Veterinary Technology and has extensive experience as a dog daycare attendant.
Whether you are simply looking for obedience training or need help modifying concerning behavior with your dog, Katelyn has the experience and knowledge to help you achieve your training goals. All training programs are designed to be an enjoyable experience, and to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

Puppy Kindergarten Class
This class is designed for puppies 2-5 months of age.
Maximum of 6 puppies per class.
This class covers proper puppy socialization and how to solve common problems like jumping, chewing, mouthing and housebreaking. The puppies will be introduced to basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay, release, wait, recall, loose-leash walking, watch, leave-it, settle, and drop it. You will learn how to capture your puppy’s good behavior, and how to eliminate unwanted behavior. The puppies will participate in a structured play group together during each class! Upon graduation of this class you and your puppy will be prepared to move on to a Basic Obedience Class.
Basic Obedience Class
This class is designed for dogs over 6 months. Maximum of 6 dogs per class.
This class covers basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay, release, wait, recall, heel, look, leave-it, place settle, drop it and side. In addition, this class covers how to properly greet other dogs and people. Weekly homework is assigned and time must be spent practicing techniques outside of class for your dog to be successful. Fun interactive games will be played in class to make practicing techniques fun and to build your dog's confidence! Upon graduation of this class you and your dog will be prepared to move on to an Advanced Obedience Class.
Advanced Obedience Class
This class is designed for dogs 6 months of age and older,
must be a Basic Obedience Class graduate. Maximum of 5 dogs per class.
This class covers how to achieve off-leash obedience with your dog (in a group class setting with distractions present). You'll also learn advanced obedience commands like heel, auto-sit, front, finish, under, back, forward, spin, and stop. Weekly homework is assigned and time must be spent practicing techniques outside of class for your dog to be successful. Fun interactive games will be played in class to make practicing techniques fun and to build your dog's confidence!
AKC Canine Good Citizen Prep and Test
This 4 week group class is designed for dogs over 6 months.
The American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (AKC CGC) certification is widely recognized for a high standard of dog behavior and is an excellent way to prepare for therapy dog training. This class prepares you and your dog to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test as well as improve on commands already learned.
The CGC Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test will obtain a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Tests are given throughout the country by approved evaluators. This Prep and Test program is designed to prepare you and your dog for the CGC test. The first 3 weeks of this program prepares for the CGC test items and the final 4th week is when the CGC test is conducted.
The Family Pack: Kids & K9s
This class is specifically for Kids and their K9s! Dogs and kids of any age welcome.
This private class consists of two 45-minute sessions.
This class will teach your child how to handle their dog in a safe and positive way. The main objective of this class is to create trust and respect between the participating child and their dog. The child in the class will be the main handler of their dog with the assistance of the trainer and their parents. They will be taught how to stop and prevent their dog from mouthing, nipping, jumping, and chasing them. In addition, they will be shown how to properly feed, brush, train and play with their dog. Parents must be present and participate during both sessions of the class.
NEW! Tricks & Games Class
Dog must be a Basic Obedience Class graduate. Maximum of 6 dogs per class.
In this 6-week group class, you will learn how to teach your dog to do tricks like wave, crawl, spin, dance, high five, and much more. Games will also be played as a group to build confidence and to make training fun!
This is a 45-minute private session. Packages available.
Our Behavior Modification programs are designed to evaluate and modify your dog's aggressive, fearful or anxious behavior. Learn why this behavior is occurring and learn how to modify these behaviors in private sessions.
Temperament Evaluations also offered. Please call for details.
Private Obedience Lesson
This is a 45-minute private session. Packages available.

Class Schedule & Registration
If you would like to enroll in one of our training programs, please fill out the dog training registration form and submit it with payment to Muddy Creek Animal Care Center. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations and an annual negative fecal test must also be submitted to complete enrollment.
